About Us

Overview

Bounded by Lake Pontchartrain to the north, the Industrial Canal to the east, the I-610 to the south and Bayou St. John to the west, Gentilly is a vibrant community with a population of more than 38,000 residents. The Gentilly Development District (GDD), created through state legislation, receives annual funding that is used to directly benefit the community by supporting economic growth, beautification and crime prevention.
